GP Small Learning Groups

Over the past five years a number of GP Small Learning Groups that focus on refugee and immigrant health care have been meeting regularly to allow GPs to discuss issues in a friendly supportive environment. They provide peer support and discussions generally reflect topics of current concern to participants. The groups often invite allied health professionals to participate.

Groups are currently conducted by:

All forums were well attended by GPs, Refugee Health Nurses, Nurses, Division staff, and allied health practitioners. It is envisaged that a similar program will be organised for 2011. Please contact Kay Dufty, Program Co-ordinator, Northern Division of General Practice at Kay.Dufty@ndgp.org.au
